This not-so-old photo, taken by Tim Grosset, shows flooded meadows in April 1998. The Great Ouse River usually runs past the right hand side of the mill (now converted into flats), and to the right of the green bush in the foreground! Flooding as bad as this is, we hope, highly exceptional - but, as far as St Ives itself is concerned, at least it wasn't as bad as the floods of 1912 or 1947!
